When I first started my Internet career I wanted to earn money before I spent any, I had not got the money for websites, or even an auto responder; therefore I had to use what I had to hand.
Before I became an Internet marketer I was a full time writer, normally web content. Someone commissioned a series of five sets of articles and unfortunately dies. I don't mean unfortunately I did not get paid, I really mean tragic, what a waste. However that was to be one of the best things that ever happened to me as far as Internet marketing goes.
I was left with these articles I could not sell and could not afford to make a web site out of them, so I made a free report. In that free report I inserted several of my affiliate links. Fortunately being a writer I had the software and I had adobe professional pdf creator and I made a secure pdf and then I was away.
I could not use it for an opt in list as I had no website. So what did I do with it, well that is the question. I started where my research had started out in the forums. My articles were on cats, therefore I Googled "cats" + "forum". Simple really and I could not believe the number of sites. I wandered around the sites for the afternoon and found twenty three newsletters about cats. Now several of my affiliate links were for two tiered programmes, so I merely sent the code for the writers of the newsletter and incredibly seven signed up.
I have since refined my letter and sales pitch and have a much better sign up rate, but it works seamlessly with no help from me. It is one way to get our e-book to go viral very quickly. I refined it by then making more info reports.
