Now several of my affiliate links were for two tiered programmes, so I merely sent the code for the writers of the newsletter and incredibly seven signed up.

Getting a web page constructed is never without a few dramatic turns, but few of my web sites have had such drab uninspired header graphics as my latest recipe site. Happy New Year to everyone, despite the fact that the year has just started it may prove to one of those pivotal years. I feel that during the course of 2008 the Internet is gong to see a lot of changes and whilst that is true of every year, now a large economic shift is underway.

The sales on the Internet are going to be huge this year. However sales are changing, a quarter of India's youth are online connected through Orkut who has more than 8 million users in India. Now that represents some spending power. The twentieth Century was the golden age of America but the Twenty First Century is definitely going to represent the golden age for Asia.

However whoever is spending the money a good lading page is imperative. A landing page is the page that your consumer will arrive at, once he has been directed to it from an e mail, a promotional site, a newsletter, or of course a search engine. Any means that you are using to promote a product or a service should direct your client to a landing page.

If you have planned your campaign correctly by the time that your client reaches a landing page he should have been informed of the benefit of the product, however that does not mean that a landing page should not inform. In theory is you have used your product research correctly linked your blog, to your sites, whether they are on Squidoo or hub pages or your own pages, the customer should be primed when they reach your landing page. However your customer is not falling over themselves to give you money. Reinforce the facts, if your product offers more say so clearly and succinctly. Make clear you are aware of competition and give something away even if the product you are offering is not yours. Dangle that carrot again. if you have nothing to give away them make a separate web page and write up a series of reviews on compatible products.

6. Minimise the Element of choice, make the customer make a decision to buy or not.

if you give the customer a choice the chances are that they will leave your site confused not knowing whether the product is right for them. Make them choose to purchase or to leave forever and not to purchase. This can be achieved by a limited offer, it may be an extra giveaway, for a limited time or a discount. the important thing is to reinforce the sense of the offer being limited.

7. Reinforce the Problem Solving Aspect.

Force the customer to acknowledge that this problem will solve an immediate problem he has now. Not next week but know explain why the product solves the problem, you can use testimonials here. It is my view that they are of limited value, however opinions are divided on this point.

8. Assist those that have never paid before on the Internet

If you are promoting someone else's product choose products that give as many payment options as possible. Not everyone has a credit card, some countries do not accept Paypal. Also even if you promoting someone else's product offer to talk them through paying on the Internet. There will be many consumers for whom there first transaction is your sale. Never underestimate that fact.

9. Reduce the Risk.

Many people may not be nervous about spending money even though they have paid out money many times over the Internet. Give a guarantee that what they are buying does what it says on the tin is not enough, give them something more such as a full refund in eight weeks.

10. Have More than One Landing Page.

First of all create your page and wait until it has had a number of visitors, say three hundred and fifty. Have a second page ready that differs in one detail. Take the first page down and analyse the results from your tracking. After the second page has been up and received the same amount of visitors then take that down and analysis the results. For busy people who do not have the time to maintain a blog, or you have multiple blogs to worry about. Flickr. is an excellent way of getting great photos and sometimes and sometimes the writing from the original bog itself.

A great example is Chocolate Cardamom and Cappuccino, the blog has not only used a blog photo from someone else, but the colour tones are great as well.

To add a blog to Flickr, you need to create an account name. To create an account name you need to have a yahoo identity as Flickr is owned by Yahoo. However you only need one identity as more than one blog can be added. Create a yahoo email address if necessary.

Open Flickr's home page, as seen in the first screen shot above. Register your account. Then configure your external blog, under your account page their is a section called "your blogs". You may create a custom layout, if you are tidy and have created a layout. This template will control where the photographs are displayed on your blog. If you do not carry out this step then the post will be at the top right.

How to choose and blog the photographs
You may blog any of the public photos they are in the public domain and can be used freely. When you actually blog them they have a link to the original person who uploaded them. I chose to type in chocolate cake and the first photograph was the screen shot below.

Click on the photograph you have selected and it will open another page with the single photograph you have selected.

The essence of affiliate marketing success is bound up with bum marketing, and driving traffic to your web site. The most profitable web marketers earn their money by digging deep into a niche, rather than digging wide.

To understand why it is more profitable to dig deep to create a niche rather than widen you need to understand a simple aspect of a niche. A niche is your target audience, the group of people to whom you want to make a sale. As a niche is a group of people the tighter that definition is the more likely you are to make a sale.

The big picture is medications. You have decided to sell medicines, but you are not a pharmacist and anyway you don't believe in antibiotics. However you think that at any one time a lot of the general population are ill at any one time. Health care is also bandages, slings and sticky tape. People go to the doctors for colds, flu, haemorrhoids, chilblains, herpes, and cancer.

Given that it is impossible and illegal to sell to all things to all of these people, it is necessary to target a specific number of them. From a statistical point of view how do you decide whom you want to target.

You look around and there are many people in the street where you live walking around with acne. There are also a lot of people walking around with acne scars. There is a dilemma before you start - do you want to sell to those people who have acne or those people that had got rid of their acne but have acne scars?

Which comes first the cart or the horse. Do you find a niche and target products to that niche or do you find a product and then find a target audience. Online marketing principals are no different to marketing in the real world, though many people will tell you they are.

Lets go back to acne, a little research will soon make it clear that acne is a result of a hormonal imbalance. A little more research and it is clear that most people are not looking for a cure to acne but a short term solution to the spot in hand as it were.

Now you can write an ebook about acne "How To Cure Acne", or "Banish Acne forever", or Sabotage that Spot". All of those titles are possible, but time consuming. A little deeper research will make you realise that babies can get acne transmitted from their mother when they are born.

Imagine the scenario, .......... it is your first child you have been delivered a perfect baby in every way, apart from the fact that the child has "baby acne". This is a specific niche part from acne, back acne, natural cures for acne, curing acne scars or anything else to do with acne.

Now you are in hospital... It is a fact that the majority of babies are born in hospital these days, you are the child's mother, and your hormones are all over the place. It is also a fact that many families no longer live in close proximity to their parents, siblings, or grandchildren. Now this is your first child and you have no one to ask why your child has acne. You may not even know that child has acne until a few days after birth a distinctive mark appears on your child's face. Here you are even more alarmed you had a perfect child and now you do not!

What are you going to do? After the initial panic you will probably speak to the medical staff and they will brush off your fears and this may or may not reassure you. Why don't I write an e-book about the problems associated with new born babies? This is known as the philosophy of throwing as many things up against the wall as possible in an effort to see if any of them stick. Or you stick it up the flag pole and see if anyone salutes it. You are trying to market everything and will probably end up with marketing everything, but in fact sell nothing.

By concentrating on one niche you are focused. Your web site or squeeze page has one goal and one goal only, to sell or give away a report on how to get rid of child acne and nothing else. This makes you an "expert" in your field and command respect, and trust.

Think about it, Bill Gates did not make his money selling printers, he sold Microsoft windows operating systems. They did not command respect as the best in the world, they did not have to be. All they had to be was the operating system the masses wanted. He found his niche!

This is not to say that you can't have more than one niche. Most likely after you create your first niche product and become profitable with it, you can take some of those profits and pick another niche. Alternatively you can dig deeper into the niche you have an concentrate on back acne or acne scars. A teenager who has a spot and a date coming up is not going to be swayed by blurb about baby acne. Eventually, you will be involved in either several niches, or deeper niches, but it is better to keep each one as a separate business and sales page. This cuts cost of advertising as you are targeting one brick in the Great wall of China not the whole wall. Niche marketing is the most specific targeted and focused marketing there is, and if researched properly is definitely the most profitable.

This caught my eye this morning and it is a classic, classic CLASSIC example of how to Fail before you have even begun. Actually ensuring that your Affiliate campaigns are successful is a lot easier than most people think. The first thing to be aware of is that in certain circumstances what you think of as a marketing campaign is actually a fishing trip.

Let me explain. you have just purchased an e-book, for example Squidoo Queen 2008, you know it is the best on the market, you realise straight away that there is great potential for making money on Squidoo. You cannot wait to get started, and best of all its free and you can give half of your income to charity.

In fact it is so easy, you want to get started immediately. You open Google and type in "affiliate"and you immediately see the prospective sales, in fact there are 22,600,905 results for affiliate so it must be good. So you search around for an hour and you find a product which offers 70 percent on every sale.

Now that is marvellous, you can get seventy percent of every sale you persuade someone to make. However you cannot make the Internet your own personal cash point that way! So off you go to Squidoo and have a look at some of the other lens in that category. Making all that content is hard work right, it is much easier just to add a few modules. In ten minutes you can have someone buying something from ebay or Amazon and you get the commission.

What you have done is directed the traffic away from your lens and delivered it firmly on someone else site. Well, well I have stirred up a hornet's nest, but hopefully this is the end of it. I am printing below a screen shot to prove that I bought the E-book.

This morning I received an extremely explosive email, where the vitriol pouring forth almost scorched the letters off the page. It quite put me off my breakfast, and completely ruined my morning. Until I got to think very carefully about what it said.

It was from a young lady from Trivandrum in India, I did not open it with any sense of trepidation or foreboding I knew Aisha, Ok we have never met, but we have e mailed each other many times. I persuaded her to join the community at "Wealthy Affiliates’ University".

She was a tad reluctant to join and I persuaded her to go ahead and part with her money, $29.99 a month. She felt that that figure when translated to Indian rupees was steep and frankly beyond her income. During the course of our emails I convinced her that it was worth her while, because she has a knack of writing well. I told her that Wealthy Affiliates has a job section whereby she could advertise her talents as a travel writer and earn the cost of her subscription.

So far so good............In the last few days things have been pretty hectic in my life and I have not had the time to go into the forum at WA. What I had not counted on was the fact that Aisha chose yesterday to join the community. The first thing she saw was an advert for "U Love Money". and a price $77.00. Right you get the picture, she has joined a site for £29.99, and she then has to pay $77.00.

Unfortunately Aisha came out of the trap spitting and snarling like a nesting Queen Cobra, SHE DID NOT HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING. Aisha thought she had to pay and she was as mad as hell at me. I have to hold up my hands and admit it was all my fault. I did not spend the time to explain I never ever promote a product I have not bought.

Sure there are hundreds of products I can promote willy nilly, but I need to have confidence in them, otherwise my cred is zilch. The U love money is a completely separate product Aisha and you do not have to buy it, but I do urge you to think about buying it later, when you have already earned the price with the basic down to earth information given at Affiliate marketing.

Private message me in the members' forum and I will send to you fifty free articles as a gesture of apology for assuming that you would know your way around such a massive site, with so much resources. Start at the eight week course and work your way around that. Holler if you need any help.

Let me give you an example you are in California on Pacific standard time and you are an affiliate marketer. You have a potential interested customer in Manchester England and there is an eight hour time difference. They E-mail to you a question at 10.00 AM their time. Unfortunately it is 02.00 in hte morning your time. No problem you e-mail them back when you wake.

Unfortunately your potential customers misses the e-mail. Either because they think it is spam several hours later, or they be bothered to read it because they went and bought somewhere else. I was ruminating about breakfast this morning, when out of the blue, it hit me, ....................why Silver Surfers have an inbuilt adavantage when it comes to Internat marketing.
